Kathleen Aryn Taylor recently earned her BFA in Theatrical Production Arts at Ithaca College, concentrating in lighting design and electrics. Within the theatre department, She has worked as the lighting designer for Main Stage and No Bucks Productions. Off campus, Kathleen has been contracted as a lighting designer for The Vocal Company, a major company in a cappella vocal mixing, to design and orchestrate the lighting for various concert series around Upstate New York region.
Kathleen spent the summer of 2015 working with ToKa Media as the Resident Designer and House Electrician in Honolulu, Hawaii. While there she the designed various concerts, including Dave Mason and Hot Tuna, and theatrical and dance performance, including In The Heights and In My Garden (with the Honolulu Movement Center) that came through the Mamiya Theatre. That summer she also began learning the art of pyrotechnics, working on the crew for Pyrofest in Pittsburgh, PA with Pyrotechnico. Kathleen is equally proficient in different areas of film, including production design and gaffing. For the past few years she has worked with Filmsters, a film and TV production company based in Annapolis, MD, as an intern and then on the staff for their summer film camp aiding in the fields of cinematography, production design, and gaffing. There are also multiple ICTV shows and movies she has worked on in association with the Park school at Ithaca.
During her time at school, Kathleen has been employed with Campus Center and Event Services as an Audio/Visual Production Technician. While she is proficient in all areas of lighting for various events, this job has also educated her in other areas of sound and video. She has worked events ranging from small lectures to official business and college conventions to grand concert systems, and many more.
